Social Communication, Autism & ADHD

What does it mean?

At Kefi, we skillfully treat pediatric social deficits and challenges. Our practice works with neurodiverse children (e.g., autism spectrum disorder, ADD/ADHD) who demonstrate challenges navigating their social world. Treatment improves communication with skills like perspective taking, problem solving, flexible thinking, empathy, emotional identification, self-regulation, and social attention.

We help kids identify subtext, body language, facial expression, and tone of voice across settings. We work with clients individually, and lead social skills groups based on age-range and severity of challenges.

Therapeutic Interventions

Alexandra has been trained under and worked with members of the Social ThinkingⓇ Collaborative to implement the methodology in ways that drive results. This approach helps individuals understand themselves, the social world around them, and how one’s actions impact others’ thoughts and feelings. Social ThinkingⓇ aligns with the following:

  • Social-Emotional Learning as described at www.CASEL.org
  • Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports as described at www.PBIS.org
  • Academic Standards
