Teacher & School Programs
What does it mean?
In any class, children’s needs are very diverse, and different kids need novel tactics to keep them engaged. Our program for early childhood educators provides practical strategies and resources to help all children in the classroom build language and social skills. We help meet diverse needs with powerful tools that make you a more effective teacher.
We also have social cognitive specialists who can visit your classroom to help students develop social emotional competencies and better self-regulation strategies. At Kefi, we empower you and the students in your class, to succeed.
Service Options
1. Teacher Coaching and training
Kefi will work with your staff consistently to support children with learning differences or challenges. We work with your teachers and find ways to support them that value their classroom, teaching styles, student dynamics and routines. Some offerings include:
- Post-classroom discussions to identify lagging skills, teach strategies and provide resources
- Session plan adaptation
- Additional activities to support skill development that consider their areas of challenge, skill level and academic curriculum
- Teach behavior management techniques and support implementation of student behavior plan
2. Clinical services
- We provide a whole host of clinical services for your students. We will work with their school schedule to identify a time to provide services based on their areas of need.
3. Whole-class social and executive functioning programs
Our experts in social cognition and executive functioning can integrate into the school day to provide whole class activities to further develop these skills across age ranges.
4. Screeners, assessments and evaluations
- Our screeners identify students who may be lagging age expected skills that align with the common core requirements. Screeners are approximately 25 minutes long and provide a high level understanding of any red flags across skills.
- Our evaluations provide a detailed and comprehensive understanding of a student’s areas of weakness. A written report and discussion will be provided to each family. We have extensive resources and services to address many different areas of communication and will provide families with a customized plan for their child’s success.
5. Parent Seminars
- Are your student’s parents interested in learning about specific topics related to their child’s speech, language, sensory, social, cognition or executive functioning skills? We will work with your school to find a topic of interest and provide an engaging, interactive and informative seminar for your school’s community.
